Zeus, Autism Service Dog
Thank you so much for helping our family and be such an amazing trainer to Zeus. Today was the first time in over 8 plus years that I went out in public and didn't worry about my daughter getting away from me. You gave me my life back. I hadn't realized how much stress that put on me every outing that we used to go on. Today was marvelous.

Nash, Puppy Head Start
Yall, I cannot rave about ADT and Miss Katie enough. I was so excited to bring home my new puppy. I was literally giddy...and then he came home and reality hit me hard, smack in the face. The truth is, (for me) puppy life is extra challenging, and even more so when you have to work and be out of your home, working 9-12 hour days regularly. I love my career and I knew I didn’t have the time or knowledge to correctly train Nash. I realized this within about 4 days of bringing him home. I needed a crate trained, house broken, socialized, obedient pup who would walk on a leash with ease, ride in the car comfortably and venture to work (in the office and out “in the real estate field”) with me regularly. I was quickly humbled when I realized I simply couldn’t do it all. I was in tears and panic. I was overwhelmed and I had no idea where to start. I have a career, a home, amazing friends and I now have a well trained, loving, sweet puppy who behaves. If you have any questions, Miss Katie is patient and understanding. She took the time to listen and understand my needs, fears and frustrations WITHOUT JUDGEMENT upon our initial call. My sweet boy, Nash, is fully crate trained, he rides perfectly in his car seat, he hasn’t had one single potty accident since bringing him home and he knows basic obedience commands. Puppy Head Start Training has made my life better but more importantly, Nash is living his best life. He’s a pleaser and I’m so glad I put Nash in Katie’s hands at 9 weeks old! His 8 week training program was worth it’s weight in gold. I’ll be sending him back for intensive leash training once he’s 6 months. If you are remotely considering Puppy Training I 100% encourage it. Starting your fur baby on the right foot increases the bond you share and makes your life together so much better and blessed. Buddy & Liberty Belle, On & Off Leash & Shelter Dog Project

Cannoli, Puppy Head Start
Puppy Head Start - I'll start by saying that I was nervous at the thought of enrolling my new puppy to a 4-week program ...but WOW! If I could, I would send all puppies to Katie! Before evening enrolling, Katie spent a lot of time just answering my questions. Her patience showed then and remained consistent -- she was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process; including sending us updates, photos, videos! I had shared with her during the initial phone call that we live in a high rise building and needed him trained to make it downstairs, as well as ensuring he would not jump on people (my niece has allergies); she kept all of these details in mind and included tips in the training video she sent us. Moreover, she picked him up from our breeder AND later helped organize his delivery from NC to NYC for us. Another thing I would like to add is that I know how nerve-racking in can be to send your pup away, but I know for certain that he was really well taken care of. Katie picked up on some symptoms he had upon arrival, took him to the vet to run tests, spent additional time with us on the phone, made sure he did not "lose out" on his training time. We are so thankful that she took care Cannoli, and everyone who meets him now is amazed at how well trained he is after such a short time (is a pro at basic commands; crate and potty trained!) Along with his arrival, Katie sent us an entire folder with training tips (not to mention answering more of our questions lol)...all seemingly small details but very much appreciated and should not go unnoticed! Put it this way...if Katie were in NY, we would for sure send Cannoli for off-leash training! Thank you so much Katie!!...Laura

Wrigley,Puppy Head Start
Wrigley went to Katie straight from the breeders at 8 weeks for Puppy Head Start. She not only picked him up for us, but did his vet check & all his vet appointments in the 4 weeks she trained him! That in itself was a huge help! Nothing has been better over the 4 weeks then seeing all the pictures of what he was learning & accomplishing!! She’s constantly posting pictures & sending updates. She is readily available for all questions & has been super helpful in recommending things to make transitioning easy. Wrigley has come to us basically crate & potty trained!!! I wish someone could have done this with my children! He’s proficient at several commands. Katie spent a lot of time working with myself, husband, & children on “training us” to be the best owners possible. She not only made us a YouTube video & a written handbook, but she also spent several hours working with us on how to best handle him. She is a wealth of knowledge!! We plan on sending him back for the leash training once he’s old enough. She also made sure to introduce him to various things like car rides, other animals, people, grooming, steps, sidewalk grates, & tons of other things I never would have thought to do. He came to us the best possible puppy he could be & I attribute all of that to Katie & her training. I’m so thankful we enrolled Wrigley in her program & he will definitely be back for further training!...Katie

Katie has been super helpful for us in training our very independent and active puppy! We had Katie board and train our puppy early on to address potty training, crate training, leash training, and basic commands like sit and down. It was a great start and we've been able to keep in touch with Katie since that training (we finished the training several months ago) on issues with mouthing/biting and some difficulty during walks, and she has always been quick to respond and give us more help. Now our little puppy isn't so little and she's much more well behaved. No more mouthing/biting, she's much better on walks, and has become a beautiful part of our family. Katie is a an excellent and knowledgeable dog trainer. Her 3 week on leash training class was the perfect solution to my wild natured puppy problem. My only concern going into the training was my sweet little puppy monster would turn into Robot Puppy Good Girl 9000; however, when I got her back not only was her behavior and recall improved dramatically, but her joyous puppy personality remained 100%! My little coonhound is better behaved both in the home and on leash around town -no more pulling, so much more sitting and listening, and as a bonus she was taught to untangle her self from the leash!!! Our four month old golden doodle was a rambunctious bundle of energy! We used Katie Wiebel at Appalachian Dog Training for the six basic on leash commands, three week course, and couldn’t be happier! Our pup is remarkably calmer, easier to handle at home and in public, and a much better listener now. Katie was so patient, explaining everything to us multiple times and practicing all the commands with us until we felt comfortable. Our dog was wonderfully well cared for. The training facility is comfortable and spacious and remarkably clean. Katie is a consummate professional when dealing with dogs and people, and has a very soothing demeanor (with dogs and people!). I highly recommend Appalachian Dog Training to anyone looking for basic commands or more advanced training. We are looking forward to our pup returning for more advanced training as he ages. Our sweet boy, Remi, was so wonderful but had lots of bad habits. He jumped up on every one, didn’t listen, ate all of our food, chewed everything and just really had no manners or training. Honestly we didn’t know how to train him. Katie did the 3 week on leash program with him and we are just astonished. He is everything that we hoped. She gave him the training and Jason and I the tools to enforce and keep up with the training. We can’t get over how well behaved our sweet boy is! Katie worked with my 1 year old Vizsla and did amazing things! He did the off leash training. I still work with my dog at home, but he now has such a great foundation. He heels with my 6 year old! She has an incredible way with animals. She communicates with owners throughout the training and posts regular updates. The best part is that she will work with your dog again if they need a refresher. We are so thankful we used her. It is worth the investment for a happy dog and happy family!...Jason

For two years we tried to tame our crazy Flossy, and yet her wild spirit kept taking over whenever we saw other people in DuPont state Forest on our morning jogs. A nice ranger out there told us about Katie and the rest is history. Katie helped us with behavior modification training over a two month period, and Flossy is no longer that embarrassing dog that she used to be! Before training, I would have to pick Flossy up to pass another person with a dog or even change directions. Now, we can go to Flat Rock Park and politely walk around other people, dogs, bikes, etc! Katie taught us on a weekly basis how to use simple commands to achieve focus in our little Tasmanian devil, who we quickly learned was eager to please. It’s an amazing transformation that Katie has helped us accomplish with Flossy and we are so great for her guidance!...Danielle

Katie kept our family updated while she was away from us and even made a special trip to our vet when Georgia’s allergies were acting up!! I was so torn about parting with my 9 month old pup for 3 weeks but with texts, pictures and videos giving me Hoover's progress and then the ultimate result it was well worth it. Hoover went in as a spoiled teen dog and was returned as a little gentleman...Marsha

Sweet Lucy, Behavior Training
Katie has spent the last six weeks working with my dog Lucy. Lucy has been quite a challenge, to say the least. While a very sweet girl, Lucy is scared of everyone and everything outside of our family. We started working with Katie and Appalachian Dog Training b/c we were almost at wit's end...barking at everyone she sees, chasing squirrels and deer, going crazy every time someone came to the door and knocked or rang the doorbell. What Katie has accomplished with Lucy in our six week session is beyond what we hoped. When UPS/FedEx or a neighbor rings the bell, Lucy gets a few barks out, but then follows our command to "place" and gets quiet. Once released, Lucy is much more relaxed/calm than ever before. Lucy walks on the leash better than ever and is less anxious around strangers and people in our neighborhood. My family and I look forward to Lucy's continued progress over coming months as we continue to reinforce her training. We are so thankful for Katie and all she has done for Lucy. Importantly, Katie was very patient with Lucy and understanding of her issues, and gradually brought out Lucy's confidence. Katie worked hard to challenge Lucy, at the right time, to bring in other dogs and different environments and experiences to challenge Lucy. Always punctual, Katie would call if she had to reschedule. It's easy to see that Katie loves dogs and working with them is her passion. When UPS/FedEx or a neighbor rings the bell, Lucy gets a few barks out, but then follows our command to "place" and gets quiet. Once released, Lucy is much more relaxed/calm than ever before. Lucy walks on the leash better than ever and is less anxious around strangers and people in our neighborhood. My family and I look forward to Lucy's continued progress over coming months as we continue to reinforce her training. We are so thankful for Katie and all she has done for Lucy. Importantly, Katie was very patient with Lucy and understanding of her issues, and gradually brought out Lucy's confidence. Katie worked hard to challenge Lucy, at the right time, to bring in other dogs and different environments and experiences to challenge Lucy. Always punctual, Katie would call if she had to reschedule. It's easy to see that Katie loves dogs and working with them is her passion. Sprocket, On & Off Leash
Katie turned my wild puppy into a part of our family. We first did one on one "On the Leash" lessons with Appalachian Dog Training. Katie came to our home to do these lesson - always very punctual and encouraging. Several months later we enrolled our puppy in "Off the Leash" training. For 3 wks she loved on Sprocket - posted photos for us to see his progress and at the end of his training instructed me on how to continue the training. She offers free "refresher" lessons and has fielded all my text questions! When my pup chewed up the charger cord for his training collar - she delivered me a replacement to my front door! Katie is very professional, encouraging and goes the extra mile!...Bonnie
