✅ OFA Hips, Elbows, Cardiac, and Eyes tested & passed
✅ Embark genetic test of over 270 genetic health risks; all clear
✅ Jada is a Therapy Dog , CGC, CGCU, CGCA, and has completed our Service Dog Training
✅ Cayman is a Canine Good Citizen!
Jada & Cayman are a complementary pair producing sound health and exceptional temperament of confidence, biddablity, and environmental soundness!! Wow!! They are the most snuggly golden retrievers!
Cayman is balanced boy, with correct angles and effortless mover. Cayman has a stunning headpiece that catches everyone’s eyes. On the smaller side of the standard, Cayman weighs about 68lbs. He has a beautiful wash-and-wear coat that easily entertains his obsession with water. Cayman has a clear genetic panel, cardiac clearance, elbow clearance, hip clearance, and has had a perfect eye exam annually his whole life.
Jada has completed Therapy Dog, Canine Good Citizen Advanced, Canine Good Citizen Urban, and has completed our Service Dog program. Jada is also on the smaller size at just 62lbs. Jada is well balanced with and earned First Place Novice Bitch this summer.
Jada & Cayman pairing have produced a total of 3 working and in training service dogs. They have a high drive to work with low excitement, are highly biddable, and environmentally sound. They also both have great ball drive! We are hopeful for another service dog prospect to become our next generation of working service dogs at ADT. Their littermates will be highly biddable, affectionate family pets.

Other Current Puppies - Zoey
*service dog*
Set for Success!
Through years of careful selection and thoughtful breeding, our golden retrievers have proven to make excellent service dogs for both children and adults in our training program and in national service dog training programs.
Zoey was born here in our program and raised in our care. She was selected as a strong service dog candidate early in our raising program, and scored exceptionally high on the AVIDOG Working Dog Full Test in November at 8 weeks of age.
Tasks & Type of Service Dog
Zoey would excel at deep pressure therapy, interruptive tasks and mobility tasks for a mobility-limited handler with her excellent propensity for the retrieve. Zoey scored 100% retrieve & return on her AVIDOG test and continues to demonstrate this behavior with all toys and items during play and training.
Zoey would also excel as a child service dog for autism, down syndrome or child with global delays. Due to the time demands of raising a dog and the time constraints of family needs, we only recommend finished service dogs for children.
Health Guarantee Cora and Gully have all OFA health scores and Genetic panels posted on www.k9Data.com . Additionally, Zoey has the Embark genetic panel testing completed and is all clear/no carriers on over 250 common genetic disorders. We take great care in producing healthy dogs that are capable of the hard demands of work. We provide a written health guarantee for 2 years.
Started vs. Finished Service Dogs
Started service dogs should be entered into a full service dog program or an owner-trained program with a professional trainer directing your progress. You are responsible for initiating and completing the dog's training.
Finished service dogs require completion of our full application process with medical documentation and approval. Finished service dogs are delivered to you after training is completed. Our trainer provides 4 intensive days of hands-on training including Grooming & Care, On Leash obedience, Off Leash obedience, Public Access, and Tasks. We provide support training under contract for life, ensuring your success as a working team!

Other Current Puppies - Denver
*reserved*
Denver is an AKC red, field golden retriever with a great desire to play and work and has a lovely off switch for laying at your feet. Her parents have orthopedic testing and genetic panels, and are all clear/no carriers. European lines lend great health to Denver!
Denver scored very high our four puppy temperament test and is highly biddable, environmentally confident, and people oriented. We were hopeful to identify her as a service dog candidate, however she is most naturally comfortable with another dog or person. This one minor fault of not being content all alone would make service dog work stressful for her.
Denver’s happiest environment would be with another mature dog, kids, and an active family that already hunts, walks, bikes and spends their days outside being active. Denver is super chill in the home after she has had a walk or playtime in the yard, but without exercise she will not be restful in the home, as would any puppy.
Puppy Head Start Training has transitioned Denver to crate and potty training, leash walking, clicker training, and beginner obedience. She sleeps through the night, keeps her crate clean always, and goes potty on the leash right away on her breaks. She is absolutely excellent with all dogs; calm and respectful and playful when appropriate.
Highly confident and biddable, respectful of other dogs, and familiar and fun with children, Denver is your all-round family friendly and kid-safe puppy. She would also make an awesome agility dog or hunt dog with continued drive development.
Applications are accepted on the website, only.

CORA X GULLY *litter is fully reserved*
We are expecting 7 puppies. Approximate go-home date is Thanksgiving 2024. This is Cora's 1st breeding and our first breeding with Gully from Emerson Retrievers. We are excited and anticipating an exceptional litter!
GCH CH Emerson's Swift Traveler (Gulliver)
Appalachian Dog Training has been working with Emerson Retrievers for over 5 years. We are incredibly grateful for their mentorship, support, and sharing of their passion.
While presenting as a beautiful mover and easy on the eyes, Gulliver truly shines with his temperament. He carries a correct double coat, that requires minimal upkeep. He stands at 23.5” and weighs 80 pounds. Gully is clear on all genetic panels, advanced cardiac, elbows, and has “good” hip scores from OFA. He is current on his eye exams as well. Gully easily finished both his CH and GCH with selective showing over a few months. He has quickly garnered multiple breed wins and group placements. He has also remained in the top 20, breed and all-breed, even with months off. He has a gorgeous headpiece with the most friendly and inviting expression. A goofy and loving boy at home; he is extremely biddable, eager to please, and quick to learn when it comes to training. Gully is confident and athletic, with a love for the water and birds. Just as easily as he runs in the field, he is happy to snuggle up on the couch and is innately gentle with young children. We are looking forward to some hunt tests and obedience trials in his future!
His first (homebred) sired litters are showing a lot of promise and success in both the conformation ring and other performance venues. He is consistently passing on his headpiece, solid topline, effortless movement, and substance to his offspring; along with his easy to live with temperament.
Cora is an Alliance of Therapy Dogs certified therapy dog and has completed our 2 year Service Dog training program. Cora has also earned her AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen). She attended Handler's School with Georgia K9 and did exceptional training for Level 1 Trailing dog! She has a great work drive and a nice off switch as she matures. Cora is an exceptional, sound worker with exemplified attention to her handler.
Cora has easy movement with a solid top line. Cora moves with little effort, she is efficient and agile and one of our most athletic Goldens. She carries the thinner coat which is most ideal for family pets and working roles as shedding is minimal. Cora has a very friendly and inviting expression, a beautiful genetic match with Gully! Cora has OFA Good Hips, Cardio and Eyes. Genetic panel (Embark) is all clear/no carriers for over 200 genetic diseases and conditions.
Cora is your go-to dog, your right-hand companion! She is confident and forward, yet attentive and hard working. Her eagerness to please makes training fun and interactive!
Bennett was born & raised here with us and has completed his Puppy Head Start and On Leash training. Bennett is a 6 mo old male puppy, parents are Jada & Cayman.
He is a calm and mild-tempered puppy, and hence, has been easy to house train and socialize. He is not hyper and almost never wildly energetic with the zoomies, although he loves to play with you and retrieve.
Maintaining such a mild & calm temperament makes Bennett an ideal match for a retired family or young family that needs quiet and peace in their home. He also does well with other dogs and is calm with them.
Bennett is trained for professional grooming and stands still in the tub, allows you to blow dry him & his head, trim & dremel nails, and trim up his paws. Amazing at just 6 months age!!
He has been out with us to pet friendly stores, breweries, parks, hiking trails, and more. He would make a lovely Therapy Dog for visiting others or an at home loving companion for someone with special needs.
The greatest challenge we have had with Bennett is his tail & the car. Jada gave birth to him with a kink in his tail, so it naturally bends downward. A squiggle tail has absolutely no effect on little Bennett; he holds his tail up and wags it lovingly when you greet him! Car rides are not his favorite, and we have been adding extra car rides to his training agenda. He will drool and can get carsick on longer rides, and we are hopeful that he will continue to improve as he matures. He is not fearful of the car, but his mom, Jada, also got carsick as a puppy. Taking frequent, short rides and giving him a chew bone helps him.
We support our dog’s completed training for life and can assist you with advanced training including Off Leash, Therapy Dog, and Caine Good Citizen.
Bennett is a very healthy, even tempered small male golden retriever accepting applications for his perfect family to call his own. He is UTD on all puppy & adult vaccines & veterinary care. Jada & Cayman have OFA Hips, Elbows, Heart, Eye & genetic testing.
Application approval requires travel to our location for a meet & greet with Bennett.

SOLD- Zyon
Trained Golden Retriever Zyon is currently enrolled in Puppy Head Start! He is Zara X Kenda's puppy (Dark Blue 6).
He needs a person that already walks, runs, hikes, bikes or plans to take their dog with them to outings and events.
He also has an amazing “off switch” and lays quietly with you on the couch and will rest on his place when doing office work. He is not “high arousal” and is not wild in the home or on walks at the park. What he is a med-high energy dog, and with that need met, a very chill dog with his person by his side.
If you've a well trained, friendly take-anywhere, do-anything dog, and love a snuggly-touchy dog, come meet Zyon!

Best Matched Puppy Program
You can know what type of puppy you are getting before you take them home! We are great supporters of knowledgeable matches as your puppy will be a lifelong member of your family.
Testing day is an incredibly informative experience like none other. It is an incredible experience to observe the puppies navigate test items and challenges. Visit our facility and meet fellow puppy buyers to connect with them. At the end of the each puppy's test, you get to meet and hold each puppy!
You do not "pick your puppy" by meeting the entire litter in a large group. The traditional style of seeing which puppy comes to you first overlooks key temperament traits you need to know. We evaluate the puppies and make best matches of available puppies.
